Cranky Pics - HSVROC 2007!!!

Pics are sequenced top to bottom, text for a pic is under a pic, click on a pic for a larger pic.

ON TO HSVROC 2007!!!!!!!!

My bags are packed and I'm ready to go........

I wanted to stop and visit a friend in Tracy, so I took the back roads. This is a pic of the top of Patterson Pass Road. Windy place!!!

The road doesn't have a center line, it's too narrow for one... You can see it winding down into Tracy.

Stopped for a photo shoot in Jamestown.

This is near the top of Sonora Pass. The road was really good, er for about 15 miles, and then it made up for all those nice roads!! It was windy!!!

My Friday ride was around Lake Tahoe. Slots was doing a ride to Virginia City and I wanted to cruise Tahoe, I was by myself, so a nice leisurely pace. I had taken Don's advice and went up 207 out of Gardnerville, quite a grade to the top!!

After Tahoe, I went thru Markleville. Some shots, good thing I did, I was planning on running thru here on my way home on Monday from Reno, but you'll see later why I didn't..

This is RubberGator's favorite place!! She cozzied right up to that little guy last year, show us a pic Lisa???!!!! GBSEG

This pic is for Skid, he really fell for this view last year!!! Coming down Monitor Pass, around a corner and the entire valley opens up, that valley goes for miles!!!

The next few pics are from the Friday night hot dog feast!!!
B for E about to attack a dog.

Another dog bites the dust!!! GBG

Tiny washing his dog down...

Mike "gone mad" after he took a pic of Linda and Mario

Just sitting around kicking back....

My wife Donna and I getting a dog before they were all gone!!! That was the only supper in town and I was not going to miss out!!! Mario assured us that there were plenty!!

Howard and Brian taking a break...

I just had that feeling that something was about to grab my "attention"!!! GBG This was at breakfast at Fandango's in Carson City. Our Saturday Cat House Ride!!!

Phil T. posing at the Cat houses.

Pic of the bikes on Geiger Pass, the back way down from Virginia City.

Pic of Lake Topaz out on the access road. You can see the wind blowing the water. I was a tad windy in the afternoons...

Standing around waiting for the Saturday supper to start.

David, Cat, and Jim chatting.

I really think folks were telling me to sit down and let them eat!! GBG

Folks getting ready to eat....

Now we're all waiting for the raffle to start, well stuffed and looking for toys!!

Well, whatdayaknow???!!!! I even won something!!!

I want to thank Slots for the pics below. He sent me many and it was much appreciated. I ran out of storage before Saturday night ran out!!! He also contributed much to the HSVROC blog.

I'm not going to try to do the name thing, I just wanted to let folks see some more pics.

I'd love to hear the story behind that pose!!!!

Linda always with a smile!!!

About to ride out Sat AM..

I got a kick out of Linda's red chaps!!!

The million dollar dress. Lots of silver dollars in a Virginia City bar.

Having a last minute chat before goodbye on Sunday am.

Turn out the lights.......... All good things must end sometime!! Lot of fun!!! Thanks to Don, Linda and Mario, Howard and family for the raffle, the ride leaders, Slots and LAS, and others I have forgotten.. Thanks!!!!

Just about to get on Ruby and head for Reno to spend a day with my youngest. I intended to come down 395 and catch 88 for the run back to the bay area.....

The view from my 18th floor window looking south. That smoke cloud was from the Tahoe fire. Right where I wanted to go..... sigh...

Even the ride over 80 was smoky, the wind had changed and blowing the smoke north.
I had a backup plan of getting on 49 south at Auburn, but was afraid the smoke was going to kill that plan.

Down and down I went (sounds like a song... GBG) and by time I got to Auburn, it was decent air, so off down 49 I went. The route from Auburn to Cool (real name) was as crooked as they come!!! The further south, the better it got. Glad I didn't take the super slab home, much better ride!!!

So ends another HSVROC!!! On to the Fools ride!!! I fit!!!! GBG Look out Sherm!!!!!
